Tilicho Lake (4919m) is known for being the highest lake in the world and is located in Manang District of Nepal in the Annapurna region. Tilicho Lake Trek begins from Chame and goes along the Marsayangdi River, with amazing views of Manaslu (8156m) and Himalchuli (7893m) to the east. We then retrace our trail back to Pokhara through the same villages and landscapes. Throughout the trek, we pass through different types of vegetation from green sub-tropical to semi-desert. Trip Itinerary

Day 01:  Arrival in Kathmandu |1300m| A, D

Welcome to Nepal! You will be picked from the airport and then taken to the hotel. Enjoy the evening with authentic food and a good rest.

Day 02:  Kathmandu: Sightseeing and Trek Preparation | A, B, L & D

Since today will be a free day in Kathmandu, you will get to know the amazing historical importance, architectures, culture, and traditions of the valley, and taste the local cuisines. We start with the guided tour to different ancient and divine attractions in Kathmandu. Some of these milestones are enlisted as World Heritage Sites, including the historic Durbar Squares, the holy Hindu temples of Pashupatinath and Changunarayan, and the Buddhist shrines of Swayambhunath and Boudhanath.

Day 03:  Drive from Kathmandu to Besisahar |760 m|6 Hours| A, B, L & D

After breakfast, we leave Kathmandu and drive towards Besisahar. We then take a jeep from Besisahar to Syange. This drive offers you some experience of the rural people as you drive past them working on their terraced fields. Overnight at Guesthouse.

Day 04:  Drive from Besisahar to Chame |2670m|5-6 Hours| A, B, L & D

From Syange, we drive on a jeep through lush hills on an off-road with a countryside view until we reach Jagat. Along the way, we are presented with a local community, which has migrated from Tibet a long time ago, noticeable by their unique way of life. As we reach Chame, the headquarters of Manang district, we are rewarded with an amazing view of Annapurna II (7937m). Overnight at Guesthouse.

Day 05:  Trek from Chame to Upper Pisang |3300m|5-6 Hours| A, B, L & D

The day starts moving from the thick forest in a vertical and narrow valley to cross a river on a long bridge at 2910meters. We then pass another bridge at 3040meters, from where an amazing view of the mounting Paungda Danda rock face begins to appear. From there the trail joins to ascend to Pisang, which stretches between 3200m and 3300meters. Overnight at Guesthouse.

Day 06:  Trek from Upper Pisang to Manang |3540m|7-8 Hours| A, B, L & D

Today we move through uppermost part of Manang district which is comparatively drier than most parts of the country. Leaving Pisang, we have substitute trails north and south of the Marsyangdi River which meets up again at Mungji. From Mungji, the trail continues past the attractive but partially hidden village of Bryanga (3475m) to reach the nearby village of Manang (3540m). Overnight at Guesthouse.

Day 07:  Manang: Acclimatization day| A, B, L & D

We spend the day by doing some walks around Manang and enjoying the magnificent views that the place has to offer. View the gorgeous Gangapurna Lake, Marsyangdi River valley, Annapurna ranges, Gangapurna Himal (7454m), and Tilicho Peak (7134m). Also, visit ancient monasteries and old village of Tengi Manang. We enjoy the day exploring the Thakali way of life and having hearty meals of the Thakali people. At the end of the day, we return back to our room and have a good rest.

Day 08:  Trek from Manang to Siri Kharka | 4060m | 4-5 Hours | A, B, L & D

We head out through the western gates of Manang and then move along the path down to the stream. After crossing the bridge above Khangsar Khola, we move uphill to the slope to Khangsar village. Continue from Khangsar on a wider trail. Pass a Gompa (monastery) and continue walking uphill until we reach Siri Kharka, where we will be staying for the night.

Day 09:  Trek from Siri Kharka to Tilicho Base Camp |4150m|4-5 Hours| A, B, L & D

From Siri Kharka, the way ahead goes on a recently constructed path up towards a high ridge. Continue walking uphill, reach a high peak, and move downhill to a side gorge of the main valley. At its bottom is a stream. On the other side of it, is Tilicho Base Camp at the altitude of 4200 meters. Overnight at basic Guesthouse.

Day 10:  Visit Tilicho Lake |4,920m| then back to Siri Kharka|4210m|8-9 Hours| A, B, L & D

After the initial hard climb, our trail continues to get harder on a steady, steep ascend before reaching the watershed. On the way, we can encounter the yaks and deer grazing on wide pasturelands. Walking past the pasturelands, we reach Tilicho Lake (4920m), a large remarkable lake settled at the base of the north face of the Tilicho Peak. The lake was termed as "The Great Ice Lake" by the leader of a French expedition team and looks tranquil in its turquoise color contrasting against the brown rocky hills and the white snowy mountains. After spending some quiet time at the lake, we return back to Siri Kharka. Overnight at Guesthouse.

Day 11:  Trek from Siri Kharka to Manang |3540M|4-5 Hours| A, B, L & D

We continue to walk back to Manang with a view of Marsyangdi River valley, Annapurna ranges, Gangapurna Himal (7454m), and Tilicho Peak (7134m) along with ancient monasteries and old village called Tengi Manang. Enjoy a delicious Thakali meal in Manang.

Day 12:  Trek from Manang to Upper Pisang |3540m|7-8 Hours| A, B, L & D

From Manang village, the trail crosses a stream and continues to climb out of Marshyangdi River valley turning northwest up the valley of Jarsang Khola. The trail follows this valley northward, passing a few meadows and a bush of juniper trees, as it gradually gains altitude. The trail passes Munchi, Humde, Ghyaru, and several other small settlements to arrive in Upper Pisang.

Day 13:  Drive from Upper Pisang to Pokhara via Besisahar|7-8 Hours| A, B, L & D

A long drive back from Upper Pisang to Pokhara via Besisahar. Enjoy the lovely landscape of the villages and the rivers as we move back to the amazing destination after such enthralling journey.

Day 14:  Sightseeing Pokhara |A, B

You can spend your time in the Lake City either sightseeing or taking part in various adventure sports offered in the outskirts of the city. The city offers splendid views of Dhaulagiri (8167m), Manaslu (8156m), Machhapuchhre (6993m), and the Annapurna massif. You're free to visit the local markets, pubs, and eateries by the lakeside on your own. Overnight in hotel.

Day 15:  Drive/Fly from Pokhara to Kathmandu |A, B

Early in the morning, take 25 minutes flight back to Kathmandu and get to fly over the mountains one more time. In Kathmandu, you can spend your time enjoying the markets of the vibrant capital. Overnight in hotel.

Day 16:  Final Departure |B

Drop off at the airport few hours before the flight time. We hope to see you again.
