This tour will take you to the beaches of Chennai to the temple of Tirupati atop a hill to the French colonial city of Pondicherry to the massive temples of Madurai. The tour ends in Kovalam in the state of Kerala fondly called as God’s Own Country for the serene natural beauty that the state has to offer. This tour will make you realize the diversity and beauty of India which is home to almost 1.5 billion people in the world.

Trip Itinerary

Day 01:  Arrival at Chennai

Upon arrival in Chennai, our local representative will receive you and transfer you to your hotel. Check-in at the hotel and rest.

Day 02:  Chennai Sightseeing

After breakfast, you will visit many sites in the old city of Madras. The tour includes ArulmiguKapaleeswarar Temple, Sri Parthasarathy Temple, different churches, and the national art gallery and museum. Your day will end at the famous Marina beach. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 03:  Chennai – Tirupati - Chennai

Today, you will travel to Tirupati, which is home to one of the biggest Hindu temples--Sri Venkateswara Temple. Thousands of people visit this temple every year and millions of women shave their long lustrous hair as a sign of offering to the gods. During Dusshera, the temple is lit up with lights and decorated with flowers and a RathYatra is held. Sri Venkateswara Temple is also the wealthiest temple in the world with devotees donating kilos upon kilos of Gold. You will return back to Chennai for the overnight stay.

Day 04:  Chennai - Kanchipuram - Mahabalipuram

After breakfast, you will take a long drive to Mahabalipuram but will also visit Kanchipuram on the way. Both destinations have some brilliant megalithic structures and temples such as the Arjun’s Penance Cave, Ekambareswar Temple, and Kailashanatha Temple. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 05:  Mahabalipuram – Pondicherry

The drive to Mahabalipuram to Pondicherry is a beautiful one along the east coast road. You have the option of seeing Auroville which is unlike any other place, where people from almost every country of the world live together in harmony under the principles of Shri Aurbindo. On reaching Pondicherry, you can explore the beautiful city of the French colonial era and enjoy walking by the rocky beach.

Day 06:  Pondicherry - Chidambaram – Tanjore

After breakfast, you will proceed with your drive to Tanjore. On the way, you will visit the Nataraja Temple in Chidambaram. You will then make your way to Tanjore. After reaching, you will visit the Brihadisvara Temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 07:  Tanjore - Trichy – Madurai

You will then leave for Madurai. You will visit the Rangnath Temple, Rock Fort Temple, and Jambukeswarar temple on the way to Madurai. When you reach Madurai, overnight at the hotel.

Day 08:  Madurai Sightseeing

Madurai sightseeing will begin in the beautiful architectural marvel Meenakshi Temple which houses the hall of thousand pillars. The day tour will be followed by ThirumalaiNyakkar Palace and Gandhi Museum. You will visit Meenakshi Temple again at night for the evening ceremony. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 09:  Madurai – Rameswaram

Post breakfast, you will drive to Rameswaram alongside the coast adorned with coconut and palm trees. You will also see many windmills all along the coastal line in Tamil Nadu. On reaching, you will visit the Ramnathaswamy Temple, situated on the banks of the ocean, and also pay a short visit to other temples. Here too, during Dusshera, thousands of people visit and take part in grand celebrations. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 10:  Rameswaram – Kanyakumari

From Rameswaram, you make your way to Kanyakumari which has the famous Vivekananda Rock Memorial, Thiruvalluvar Statue, Bhagavathi Amman Temple, and spectacular sunrise and sunset views by the beach. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 11:  Kanyakumari – Kovalam

Today, you will drive from Kanyakumari to Kovalam which is in Kerala--God's own country. Rest of the day, you can relax at the Kovalam beach which has a spectacular setting and a cute lighthouse.

Day 12:  Kovalam – Trivandrum (Departure)

You drive to Trivandrum for departure and pay a short visit to the famous Sri Padmanabhaswamy temple.
